The region of Terra Alta, inland region of Tarragona that limits with Aragón (Matarraña) on the West, counts on a privileged geographic situation near the sea and with impressive mountains, with a beautiful landscape of vineyards and olive groves that are a chromatic gift for the view.

Its name, that means “high land” is justified when we look at the region from bottom of the Ebro valley, as you can see that the region lays on the Ports and rises up to 1.400 metres high.
Rich in history, the border region between Teruel and Tarragona, offers much to discover: Iberian ruins, templarios castles, Renaissance palaces, románicas and gothic churches, and industrial buildings with traces of the Catalan Modernism. The 12 towns that form the region have much history, and in many of them is still present the traces of the Ebro battle, one of the most dramatic episodes of the Civil War. The route of “la Paz” (peace) crosses diverse scenes of this battle that so hard marked the population of the Terra Alta.
The region offers multitude of activities to enjoy the nature and the landscape, the gastronomy and the culture, and the free time: cycling or thematic routes surrounded by the silence, hill walking and excursions surrounded by a nature that remains imperturbable; scaling and canyoning for people looking for strong emotions; gastronomical and enological routes for the lovers of the Mediterranean table and its wines. They are to emphasize the magnificent wines of the region, that have deserved the Denomination of Terra Alta Origin.
